A Dance With No Name, LCTC (Lorraine Chapman The Company) filmed by John Hession
Based loosely on Shakespeare’s Macbeth
Chapman began to create this dance in the fall of 2019 after she was invited to participate in The Stockbridge Theater’s 2020 season. In honor of the 100th anniversary of woman’s suffrage. the theater had planned to celebrate this significant milestone by featuring female playwrights and choreographers. The dance was to debut at The Stockbridge in April but with the sudden onset of the Covid pandemic, all shows were canceled. With the help of Stockbridge Director, Matt Cahoon, a collaboration between filmmaker John Hession and Lorraine Chapman is in the works. Filming will begin in early winter and the film should be ready to view in early spring of 2021.
